TERMS & CONDITIONS - NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA)

These Terms and Conditions form part of the agreement between Beta MEDIA (Beta MEDIA Group), the organizers of the NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) (“NiTA”, “us”, “we” or “our”), and you, the participant.

DEFINITIONS
“THE AWARDS”

Means the NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) event and the associated activities, processes and procedures organized for the purpose of recognizing and announcing award winners.

“ORGANIZER”
Means Beta MEDIA (Beta MEDIA Group), its subsidiaries and authorized organizing partners.

“NOMINATION & ENTRY”
Means any nomination or entry submission made for consideration in the NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA).

“PARTICIPANT”
Means a corporate organization, business, institution, professional or individual by whom, or on whose behalf, a nomination, entry or event booking has been submitted or made and accepted by the Organizer.

“PARTICIPATION & SUBSTITUTION”
Means any circumstance where a Participant who has been confirmed to attend the Awards Event is unable to attend and requests that another individual attend in their place, subject to the approval of the Organizer.

“CHANGE OR CANCELLATION”
Means any adjustment, postponement, rescheduling, relocation or cancellation of the Awards Event.

NOMINATION & ENTRY FORMALITIES

All nominations and entries must be submitted online through the official NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) website. By submitting a nomination or entry, the Participant confirms that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions and, where applicable, have the necessary authorization from the organization or nominee on whose behalf the submission is made.
Nominations or entries that do not correspond with the products, services, professional activities, technology initiatives or achievements of the nominee, or that do not appropriately match the available award categories, may be rejected or disqualified.
Each nomination or entry must be completed accurately and submitted on or before the published Closing Date. Nominations or entries received after the Closing Date may not be considered.
Submission of a nomination or entry into the NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) does not constitute or guarantee qualification, shortlisting or winning of an award category. All entries are subject to the official NiTA Eligibility Screening, Verification and Judging Process.
The Awards Organizers may review, verify and assess submitted information to determine whether an entry satisfies the applicable eligibility requirements and award category criteria.
No nomination or entry will proceed to the formal Judging Panel assessment unless it satisfies the applicable eligibility and preliminary screening requirements.
The Awards Organizers reserve the right to request additional information, clarification or supporting documentation from a nominee or entrant where such information is considered necessary for eligibility verification or judging.
The Awards Organizers may reclassify or transfer an entry to another award category where the information submitted indicates that another category is more appropriate.
An entry may be disqualified or removed from consideration where it:

Fails to meet the applicable eligibility requirements.
Contains false, misleading, inaccurate or fraudulent information.
Contains materially incomplete information.
Provides insufficient or unverifiable supporting evidence.
Does not substantially comply with the published entry guidelines.
Is submitted under an inappropriate award category and cannot reasonably be reclassified.
Otherwise violates these Terms and Conditions or the applicable NiTA Rules.

Entries that differ substantially from the published entry guidelines or eligibility requirements may be disqualified without prior notice.

JUDGING & ASSESSMENT PROCESS
The NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) uses a structured judging and assessment process designed to promote fairness, independence, consistency, transparency and credibility.

Qualified entries may undergo:

Round I – Nomination Screening & Verification
The NiTA Nomination & Screening Team conducts preliminary screening to establish eligibility, completeness, category suitability and the credibility of the information submitted.

Round II – Judging Panel Assessment & Vetting
Qualified entries are submitted to the designated NiTA Judging Panel for independent assessment against the applicable judging criteria.

Assessment may include:

Technology Usage & Digital Transformation.
Innovation & Creativity.
Professional or Organizational Excellence.
Achievements & Performance.
Impact & Results.
Industry Contribution.
Leadership & Influence.
Quality & Effectiveness.
Sustainability & Scalability.
Supporting Evidence & Verification.
Alignment with the objectives of the relevant award category.

Round III – Final Judging & Winner Determination
Shortlisted nominees may undergo a final assessment based on their overall performance against the approved judging criteria, supporting evidence, achievements, impact and suitability for the relevant award category.

The final winner is determined through the official NiTA Judging & Assessment Process.

The NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) does not use public voting, online voting, popularity voting, community voting or any other form of public voting to determine award winners.

Award outcomes are based on the official judging, assessment, verification and winner-determination process.

SPONSORSHIP & SUPPORT
Being a sponsor, partner, supporter, advertiser or participant of the Awards does not guarantee nomination, shortlisting or winning of any award category.

All nominees and entries, regardless of their relationship with the Awards Organizers, sponsors or partners, are subject to the same applicable eligibility, screening, verification and judging requirements.

No sponsorship, partnership, advertising relationship, payment or other commercial relationship shall be interpreted as influencing the independent judging outcome.

PARTICIPATION & SUBSTITUTION

By participating in and/or attending The Awards, all Participants agree to be bound by and comply with these Terms and Conditions.
It is the Participant’s responsibility to read and understand these Terms and Conditions before submitting a nomination, entry or booking.
A Participant’s attendance at The Awards Event will be confirmed by the Organizer once the completed booking or reservation has been received and accepted.
Attendance at The Awards Event is subject to available seating and applicable invitation or booking arrangements.
Substitution requests must be made in writing to the Organizer. The Organizer reserves the right to approve or decline any substitution request.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Each party irrevocably agrees to submit to the applicable jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
These Terms and Conditions, together with the applicable registration, nomination, entry and booking forms, constitute the agreement between the Participant and the Organizer regarding participation in the Awards.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Participant agrees not to hold the Organizer liable for loss or damage suffered or incurred by the Participant in connection with participation in or attendance at The Awards, including consequential or indirect losses, loss of profit, alteration of the Awards schedule or cancellation of The Awards.
The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organizer, its servants and agents against claims, losses, damages, injuries, actions or proceedings arising from the Participant’s acts or omissions during the Awards.
Participants are responsible for obtaining appropriate insurance cover in connection with their attendance at The Awards.

DATA PROTECTION & COMMUNICATION
By completing and submitting a nomination, entry, registration or booking form, Participants acknowledge that the Organizer may process their submitted personal and organizational information for the administration, communication, assessment and promotion of the NIGERIA Technology Awards, subject to applicable data protection requirements.

Where permitted by applicable law and subject to appropriate consent requirements, the Organizer may contact Participants regarding future events, services, announcements and related activities.
The Organizer may share relevant information with authorized service providers, organizing partners, sponsors or other entities where reasonably necessary for the administration and delivery of the Awards, subject to applicable privacy and data protection obligations.

CONDUCT & SECURITY

Inappropriate, disruptive, abusive, threatening or otherwise unacceptable conduct by any Participant may result in refusal of entry to, removal from or exclusion from The Awards Event.
Participants may be required to undergo reasonable security checks at The Awards Event venue.

CHANGE OR CANCELLATION

The Awards Organizers reserve the right to add, withdraw, reschedule or substitute presenters, artists, speakers or program elements and may vary advertised programs, prices, venues, seating arrangements and audience capacity.
The Awards Organizers reserve the right to alter the time, venue, date, itinerary or invited guests associated with The Awards Event.
In the event of cancellation or postponement due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the Organizers, including acts of terrorism, war, acts of God, natural disasters or other unforeseen circumstances, the Organizers shall not be responsible for costs, damages or expenses incurred as a consequence of the postponement or cancellation, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel a Participant’s participation where reasonably necessary, including cancellation of The Awards Event.
In the event of fire, flood or other circumstances beyond the Organizer’s reasonable control, the Organizer may change the time, date or venue of The Awards Event.
The Organizer reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to amend, cancel, postpone or modify sessions, activities or events associated with The Awards.

CONFIDENTIALITY & USE OF SUBMITTED INFORMATION
Information submitted as part of a NiTA nomination or entry may be reviewed by the Organizer, Nomination & Screening Team, Judging Panel and other authorized persons involved in administering the Awards.

Participants should not submit confidential, commercially sensitive, proprietary, classified or restricted information unless they are prepared for such information to be processed for the purposes of administering, verifying, assessing and promoting the Awards.

Any information not expressly identified as confidential may be used by Beta MEDIA (Beta MEDIA Group) for legitimate Awards administration, communications, editorial, publicity and promotional purposes, subject to applicable law and the Organizer’s privacy policies.

Participants remain responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights and permissions to submit any information, photographs, documents, trademarks, intellectual property or other materials included in their nomination or entry.

LIMITATIONS & DISCLAIMER
The NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) accepts no responsibility, financial or otherwise, for:

Any promise, representation or indication made publicly before an award is formally announced and confirmed by the Organizer.
Any loss, damage or consequence arising from actions taken by the Organizer in relation to a particular nomination or entry, except where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
Any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, including loss of revenue, anticipated savings, business, goodwill, use, data or other information, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or restrict liability for fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury to the extent that such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Participants remain responsible for any damage, loss or injury caused by their own acts or omissions in connection with participation in The Awards.

FINAL JUDGING DECISION
The interpretation and application of these Terms and Conditions, the NiTA Judging Rules and the decisions of the Awards Organizers relating to the administration and judging of The Awards shall be final, subject to applicable law.

The final judging outcome is determined through the official NiTA Eligibility Screening, Verification, Judging and Winner Determination Process.

No public voting, online voting, popularity voting, community voting or external voting mechanism shall determine or influence the final award outcome.

The Awards Organizers reserve the right to conduct additional verification, reassessment or review where necessary to protect the fairness, credibility and integrity of the Awards.

GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTE RESOLUTION

These Terms and Conditions shall be interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The parties shall use their best endeavours to resolve any dispute or difference of opinion arising from or in connection with these Terms and Conditions amicably through mutual discussion.
Where the parties are unable to resolve the dispute within seven (7) business days, the parties agree to submit the matter to the applicable courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
