ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility: Judging is conducted by the designated NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) Judging Panel in accordance with the official judging criteria, assessment framework and applicable Judging Rules.
JUDGING TIME FRAME
Judging Time Frame: Each nominee may be reviewed and assessed by the designated Judging Panel during the official judging period. Judges may assess nominees based on the information submitted during the nomination and entry process, supporting documentation, professional achievements, technology usage, innovation, impact and other applicable judging criteria.
JUDGING PERIOD
Judging Period: The Judging Panel may commence its assessment during the officially announced judging period for all eligible award categories. The Awards Organizers reserve the right to adjust the judging schedule where necessary.
HOW JUDGING IS CONDUCTED
How Judging Is Conducted: Eligible nominees are reviewed and assessed by the designated NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) Judging Panel in accordance with the published judging criteria and evaluation framework.
The Judging Panel may consider, where applicable:
- Technology usage and digital transformation.
- Innovation and originality.
- Professional excellence and achievements.
- Business or organizational impact.
- Contribution to Nigeria’s technology ecosystem.
- Quality, relevance and effectiveness of technology solutions.
- Industry leadership and influence.
- Sustainability, scalability and potential for future impact.
- Supporting information and documentation submitted by the nominee.
JUDGING GUIDELINES
The integrity, independence and credibility of the NiTA judging process shall be maintained throughout the assessment period.
The Awards Committee reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify or remove any nominee from consideration where it determines or reasonably suspects that the nominee:
- Has submitted false, misleading, inaccurate or fraudulent information.
- Has provided fabricated documents, credentials, achievements or supporting evidence.
- Has attempted to improperly influence, manipulate or interfere with the judging process.
- Has attempted to improperly influence a judge or member of the Awards Committee.
- Is acting in violation of these Official Judging Rules.
- Has engaged in any conduct that may compromise the fairness, integrity or credibility of the Awards.
The Judging Panel shall independently review and assess eligible nominees based on the applicable judging criteria and scoring framework.
Where applicable, scores and assessments submitted by the Judging Panel may be consolidated by the Awards Committee/Organizers for the purpose of determining the final award outcome.
If, for any reason, the judging process is interrupted, compromised, tampered with or otherwise affected, the Awards Committee/Organizers reserves the right to review, suspend, repeat, modify or otherwise manage the affected stage of the judging process as it considers reasonably necessary.
In the event of a dispute, tie, conflict or any other circumstance requiring a final determination, the Awards Committee/Organizers reserves the right to make the final determination regarding the nominee to be declared the winner of the relevant category.
Nominees are prohibited from attempting to improperly influence members of the Judging Panel through fraudulent, inappropriate, coercive or unethical means, including offering gifts, financial benefits, prizes, inducements or other advantages to judges or persons involved in the judging process.
If, for any reason, any aspect of the judging process is not capable of running as planned, including computer viruses, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical or system failures, disruption, acts of God, terrorist attacks or any other causes beyond the control of the Awards Organizers which may compromise the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the judging process, the Awards Organizers reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
- Cancel the affected judging process.
- Terminate the affected assessment.
- Modify the judging process.
- Extend the judging period.
- Suspend the judging process.
- Reconstitute or replace members of the Judging Panel where necessary.
- Conduct a reassessment.
- Determine the winners based on the available assessment records and applicable judging criteria.
The decision of the NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) Judging Panel, subject to the applicable Awards Rules and final determination of the Awards Organizers, shall be final.
GENERAL JUDGING TERMS
Participation in the NiTA nomination and judging process is at the nominee’s own responsibility and risk.
The Awards Organizers, partners and their respective parent companies, affiliated companies, related companies, subsidiaries, advertising agencies and any entity associated with the judging process shall not be responsible for or liable for:
- Difficulty accessing the internet.
- Errors in electronic transmission.
- Service outages, delays or technical malfunctions affecting telephone networks, internet services, computer systems, servers, hosting providers, computer equipment or software.
- Failure, loss, delay, corruption or misdirection of submitted information or supporting documentation.
- Any injury or damage to a participant’s computer, mobile device or other equipment arising from participation in the nomination or judging process or from downloading materials or software associated with the Awards.
- Failures or malfunctions of telephones, wireless devices, telephone lines, cellular equipment, telecommunications systems, wireless services or other communication systems.
The Awards Organizers shall not be responsible for any condition caused by events beyond their reasonable control that may cause the judging process to be disrupted, delayed, suspended or compromised.
The Awards Organizers shall also not be responsible for:
- Typographical or other errors in the publication, offering or administration of the Official Judging Rules.
- Errors or omissions in nominee information.
- Errors in the announcement or publication of potential or final winners.
Participants assume responsibility for any injury, loss or damage caused or claimed to be caused by their participation in the nomination, assessment or judging process.
By participating in the NiTA nomination and judging process, nominees agree to be bound by these Official Judging Rules.
Failure to comply with the Official Judging Rules may result in disqualification from the Awards at the sole discretion of the Awards Organizers.
The Awards Organizers reserves the right to modify, amend, update or supplement these Official Judging Rules at any time where it considers such modification necessary for the proper administration, fairness, security or integrity of the Awards.
All interpretations of these Official Judging Rules and decisions of the Awards Organizers relating to the judging process shall be final.
FINAL JUDGING DECISION
The judging results and final decisions of the NIGERIA Technology Awards (NiTA) are final, subject to the official Awards Rules and procedures, and no correspondence will be entertained regarding the final outcome of the judging process.
